This site is static. It has no database, no login and no session. Simply reading it sends nothing from your device beyond what any request for a web page involves technically.

Everything that goes further is listed below one by one: what it does, why it is allowed and how you switch it off.

There is no data protection officer; the legal conditions requiring one are not met.

When you open a page

The site is served from my own web account at Webhoster AG. Like any web server, it keeps an access log. That log holds the address requested, the date and time, the amount of data transferred, whether the request succeeded, the referring page, browser type and operating system, and the IP address.

This happens so the page can be delivered and so faults and attacks stay visible. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in running the site securely, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

These logs are not combined with other data and are not analysed to recognise individuals.

Your decision about embedded content

Two things on this site send data to third-party servers. Both load only once you agree. You are asked on your first visit.

Your answer is kept in your browser’s local storage, under the key nz-consent. It is not in a cookie and not on a server, and it never leaves your device. Until you answer, none of it loads.

You can withdraw the decision at any time. There is a button for that at the end of this page.

Booking calendar by meetergo

The booking page holds a booking calendar by meetergo GmbH.

If you allow it to load, your browser fetches a script from an Amazon Web Services server in the Frankfurt region and then connects to meetergo. Your IP address and details about your browser and device are transferred, and the provider may set cookies. If you book an appointment, meetergo processes what you enter there.

The legal basis is your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG.

If you do not allow it, a note with a link appears instead. It opens the same calendar at meetergo directly, with this site playing no part.

Audience measurement with GoatCounter

I count page views with GoatCounter, a service by Arp242.net (Martin Tournoij), hosted in Germany.

GoatCounter sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. What is recorded: the page visited, the referring page, screen width, country and browser type.

Your IP address is not stored. To tell two visits on the same day apart, a hash is derived from IP address, browser identifier and a random value that changes daily, and the source data is discarded.

Consent would not be required for this under § 25(2) TDDDG. I ask anyway, and without your agreement nothing is counted. The legal basis is then your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Contact form

The contact form page embeds a form. It does not run inside this site but in a separate WordPress instance at link.nozilla.de, an address belonging to the same operator.

What you enter there is passed to me so that I can answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where it concerns steps prior to a contract, otherwise the legitimate interest in answering enquiries, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Your details are kept until the enquiry is settled and no retention obligations stand in the way.

Contact by email and phone

You can write or call instead. I then process what you tell me of your own accord, for the same purpose and on the same basis as with the form.

Email is not encrypted in transit in every case. For anything confidential we will agree on a different route.

What is stored in your browser

This site sets no cookies. It keeps two values in your browser’s local storage:

  • nz-consent, your decision about the embedded content
  • nz-theme, whether you chose the light or the dark appearance

Both stay on your device. You can delete them at any time through your browser settings.

The search runs entirely in your browser. The index is built when the site is built and delivered like any other file. What you type is not transmitted and not stored anywhere.

This site links to pages run by others. Their privacy policy applies to their processing, not this one. A link transfers data only once you click it.

What this site does not do

It has no login, no user accounts and no comment function. It embeds no fonts, maps, videos or icons from third-party servers; all of that sits on my own server. It sets no cookies for recognition, does no profiling and no automated decision-making. There is no newsletter and no advertising network. Your data is not sold and not passed on for advertising.

Your rights

You have the right to

  • ask what data about you is processed (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • have it corrected (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • have it erased (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • have the processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • receive the data in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR),
  • object to processing based on a legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR),
  • withdraw a consent you gave, at any time and with future effect (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

A message to contact@nozilla.de is enough.

Independently of that, you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, Art. 77 GDPR. The competent one here is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Changes

If the technology behind this site changes, this text changes with it. The version you read when you open the page is the one that applies.
